Membership Levels

An NRCIA membership is ideal for roofing professionals, home service companies, or other contractors who desire additional streams of revenue and increased competitive advantage. Our typical members are both entering and established professionals alike, who use their memberships to either conduct roof inspections alone or use roof inspection reports as a gateway to sell roofing jobs.

The purpose of the NRCIA naturally complements and supplements the purpose of several other roofing and home service associations, and many of our members hold dual memberships.

For more information contact us at memberships@nrcia.org or schedule a demo to see NRCIA’s tools in action!

Common Questions

What is the difference between dues and fees?

You pay the membership dues at the beginning of your membership subscription. These dues allow you to access many membership benefits and features. In addition to these dues, you pay a fee to publish inspection reports and certifications, and to purchase inspection or repair leads. These fees may be discounted, depending on your membership level.

What does "guaranteed lifetime prices" mean?

It means exactly what it sounds like — all membership subscriptions are guaranteed lifetime prices. As long as your membership account remains active and in good standing (e.g., you haven’t canceled and then re-subscribed) and your package remains unchanged (e.g., you haven’t switched membership levels), then your dues and fees are locked in for life, and they will never increase from the moment when you first subscribed.

Is membership an annual commitment?

Yes, memberships are a 1-year or 3-year subscription plan. And, to make sure you don’t skip a beat on the job, all plans also auto-renew.

Do you offer any customized subscriptions?

Yes, we do! If you are interested in multi-user options or require specific customizations, please contact us.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes, we do! If you subscribe to our 3-year membership package, we automatically apply a 15% discount on your membership dues.

Also, non-profits or member-owners who are a minority, woman, person with a disability covered by ADA, military, or first responder qualify for a special 10% discount. If any of these categories apply to you, please contact us — we’d love to help you!

Can I cancel my membership anytime?

Yes, you can stop your membership subscription by contacting us. This will stop your membership from auto-renewing and prevent you from being billed again. However, if you’ve already paid your membership dues, we can’t refund, prorate, or discount payments.

Upon membership expiration, you will no longer be able to access NRCIA’s logos, trademarks, educational resources, and support. If you want to use NRCIA’s software, logos, or trademarks again at some point, you simply re-subscribe.

What is the difference between a Certified Roof Inspector and a Forensic Roof Inspector?

Certified Roof Inspectors expand their roofing services to include our proprietary LeakFREE® roof inspections and certifications, and can market these additional revenue streams to the 13 key players in the real estate community, ranging from sellers all the way to lenders.

Forensic Roof Inspectors are the highest-qualified individuals at the NRCIA. The most common need is related to insurance claims and legal cases, where members are qualified to investigate building code compliance, manufacturer’s installation specification compliance, workmanship evaluation, third-party damage responsibility evaluation, testify in court, and work with engineers. In addition to being qualified to conduct our LeakFREE® roof inspections and issue certifications, these members can expand their service lines to include these Forensic ROOF® inspections as an additional stream of revenue by marketing to insurance companies, claims adjusters, banks, mortgage companies, real estate brokers, and contractors.

Are there any other requirements to be qualified to conduct CA SB 721 inspections?

*Yes, according to the law, you must also be a licensed architect; licensed civil or structural engineer; a building contractor holding any or all of the “A,” “B,” or “C-5” license classifications issued by the Contractors’ State License Board, with a minimum of five years’ experience, as a holder of the aforementioned classifications or licenses, in constructing multistory wood frame buildings; or an individual certified as a building inspector or building official from a recognized state, national, or international association, as determined by the local jurisdiction.
