Mr. Watrous provides the overall vision for the NRCIA and is the driving force behind all business development operations as the NRCIA grows into a recognized, trusted brand name nationwide. He is the chief “guardian of the brand” with a spectrum of responsibilities that includes the company’s overall direction and the development and management of the chapter operations. Mr. Watrous makes sure the company maintains its focus on core values and its stated mission to provide a superior level of service and exceptional value in meeting the roofing needs and protection of homeowners and the real estate community.
In his roles as Founder and Chief Executive Director, Mr. Watrous draws on his broad and varied experience as a business owner, visionary, author, entrepreneur, and “hands-on” general contractor. He has over 40 years of experience in all facets of the residential building industry, including extensive experience in construction management. His core expertise and “passion” is providing a system in which other contractors can benefit. He is a leading expert in the roof certification business and developed the patent-pending process for inspecting and certifying roofs. Early in his career, Mr. Watrous founded Waterhouse & Associates, a general contracting consumer advocate firm specializing in insurance claims by reconstructing homes damaged by “perils of nature.” He quickly became a specialist and has since developed numerous copyrights and proprietary systems that advance the knowledge and techniques of roof certification and the repair process.
Mr. Watrous created the NRCIA based on his in-depth knowledge of all sides of the roofing repair business, including the insurance side. In tandem with the NRCIA, he developed the LeakFREE® Roof Certification, a renewable service agreement that protects sellers, buyers, and agents from any future roof-related leaks and claims.
Mr. Watrous is also the founder of TGWB Publishing and a former Educational Director providing a 3-credit continuing education correspondence course for real estate agents in California entitled “Roof Certifications for Consumer Protection” and a 6-credit continuing education correspondence course for insurance agents in California. He is the author of “Top Dollar Property Claims,” a business book designed to guide homeowners and contractors through the steps of obtaining a successful claims settlement. The book was selected as one of the “Top 10 Real Estate Books” by The Los Angeles Times.
Director of Operations
Ms. Meyer shares the overall vision with Les Watrous by helping with the development and performance of programs and filling the role of Director of Operations. Ms. Meyer shares a passion with Les to build the NRCIA into an association with the highest moral standards and a level of integrity unmatched in the roofing industry.
Member Training and Development
Mr. Watrous oversees member training and development for the NRCIA, with over 10 years of experience in the roofing industry using NRCIA’s software-as-a-service platform. Mr. Watrous is dedicated to serving our membership by prioritizing their training and development as well as liaising between member companies and product development.
