Golden Dragon Roofing joins NRCIA
Northern New Jersey, June 17, 2025. Golden Dragon Roofing, a residential and commercial roofing company serving Northern New Jersey, has completed ForensicGUARD™ accreditation and joined the National Roof Certification and Inspection Association (NRCIA). The company’s founder now holds the designation of NRCIA Forensic Roof Inspector.
The company reports more than 30 years of field experience in roof repair, service and installation across the region.
What ForensicGUARD™ accreditation covers
ForensicGUARD™ is the NRCIA program for root-cause work. Where a standard inspection documents the condition of a roof, forensic work traces a failure back to its origin: a detail that was built wrong, a material that was mismatched to the slope, a repair that moved water rather than stopping it. That evidence is what carries weight in an insurance claim or a construction defect dispute.
Chris, founder and lead inspector at Golden Dragon Roofing, began roofing in the late 1980s. “Forensic inspections are about understanding the why behind roof failures,” he said. “This certification helps me uncover root causes.”
He added that small conditions left unexplained are the ones that grow. “Even small issues, if missed or misunderstood, can turn into major problems.”

Accreditation places the firm in the NRCIA member directory, where homeowners, property managers and commercial owners in Northern New Jersey can find an inspector by service area.
It also means the company’s inspections follow the five-zone LeakFREE® Check: interior, attic, exterior, perimeter and rooftop, worked in that order so that evidence found indoors directs the search on the roof. Where a roof meets the published criteria, an accredited member can issue a LeakFREE® Roof Certification. That certification records the condition of one roof, at one address, on one date.
