OREP joins NRCIA as an insurance partner
NRCIA has partnered with OREP, an insurance program administrator that places errors and omissions (E&O) and general liability coverage for inspection and property professionals. NRCIA members can enroll through the member portal, where OREP has extended a member rate on its programs.
OREP has placed coverage for this category of professional for more than 20 years, working with real estate appraisers, home inspectors, restoration contractors, real estate agents and brokers, mold remediators, energy raters and others in adjacent fields.
Why a roof inspector needs E&O coverage
General liability answers for physical damage and bodily injury. A ladder goes through a skylight, a tile comes off the roof and lands on a car. E&O answers for the other kind of loss: a professional judgment that turns out to be wrong, or a condition a client says should have been documented and was not.
Roof inspection sits squarely in that second category. An inspector writes findings that a buyer, a seller, an agent, an adjuster or an attorney may rely on months later. A report that becomes evidence in a transaction dispute or a claim is exactly the exposure E&O coverage is built for.
This matters more as the work gets more consequential. Members doing forensic work through ForensicGUARD™, exterior elevated element inspections through E3GUARD™, or insurance-related evaluations through DisasterGUARD™ produce documents that are read closely by people whose money depends on them.
What OREP provides
- Errors and omissions coverage written for inspection and property professionals.
- General liability placed alongside it.
- Risk management and business support resources for policyholders.
- Working RE Magazine, an industry publication OREP produces.
Coverage, cost and availability depend on the size, scope and location of a business, and on the underwriter. Quotes and terms come from OREP, not from NRCIA, and members should read the policy language before binding.
How to enroll
Active members can sign up through the NRCIA member portal. Have your current business details ready: entity type, years in operation, service area, and the inspection programs you hold. If you are already carrying coverage elsewhere, note your renewal date so you can compare terms rather than switching mid-term.
Coverage supports the accreditation
Insurance handles what happens after a dispute begins. The accreditation and the documentation standard are what make disputes less likely in the beginning. NRCIA members work the five-zone LeakFREE® Check and record findings in a LeakFREE® Roof Inspection Report through InspectionPLUS®, which is where a certification is generated and registered.
LeakFREE® is our federally registered trademark. Only NRCIA members can issue a LeakFREE® certification.
Review the programs and join NRCIA.
